Reaching by Air ✈️
The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). The IIT Delhi campus is approximately 10 km from Terminal 1 (Domestic) and about 15 km from Terminal 3 (International).
Prepaid and app-based taxis (Uber / Ola) are available directly from both terminals and take roughly 30–45 minutes depending on traffic. Alternatively, the Delhi Metro Magenta Line connects the airport’s Terminal 1 directly to IIT Delhi Metro Station on the campus edge.
Reaching by Train 🚄
The major railway stations serving Delhi are New Delhi (NDLS), Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM) and Old Delhi (DLI). The IIT Delhi campus is approximately 14 km from New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin stations, and about 22 km from Old Delhi station.
Taxis and app-based cabs are available from all stations. By metro, take the Yellow Line and change to the Magenta Line at the Hauz Khas interchange to reach IIT Delhi Metro Station.
Reaching by Metro 🚇
The campus has its own IIT Delhi Metro Station on the Magenta Line; Gate 3 is nearest to the academic area. The Hauz Khas station (a Yellow Line and Magenta Line interchange) is about 2.5 km from campus, with autos and e-rickshaws available to the main gate.
